Our approach

The Thrive Method

The right intervention, for the right person, at the right time. Sophisticated testing and personalized interventions can be valuable — but more information doesn’t always mean better health. We use clinical insight and scientific evidence to identify what matters most for you: starting with the foundations of health, and incorporating advanced tools when they offer meaningful, actionable insight.

Your roadmap to feeling amazing

Our clinical decision framework.

Five steps that decide what is worth keeping, what merits investigation, and what may be adding burden without benefit — consistent with the Subtraction Principle in The Longevity Trap. We aren’t selling complexity. We’re offering the expertise to determine how much complexity is warranted.

01 Context first

Understand the whole person

Health history, symptoms, lifestyle, existing medical information and personal goals — the context every later decision depends on. Your life events, diet, sleep, stress, relationships and medications all shape the evaluation, and so does an honest inventory of what you’re currently taking and tracking. No two stories are alike, so we explore yours thoroughly before anything is ordered.

02 Where the leverage is

Identify the greatest opportunities for improvement

What is most likely to produce meaningful health benefit? Sometimes that’s a clinical concern that requires evaluation — a thyroid pattern, a gut problem, a hormonal transition with real symptoms. Just as often it’s a foundational behavior: sleep, movement, nourishing food, stress, connection. The two aren’t in competition; the skill is in weighing them honestly for your situation.

03 Clarify or change a decision

Test with purpose

Conventional or specialized testing when the result is likely to clarify an important question or change a decision. Labs you already have are reviewed first. When a new test is warranted, it’s read in context — reference ranges vary by lab, many markers swing with sleep, stress and the time of the draw, and a single snapshot means less than it looks. We distinguish validated treatment targets from proposed “optimal” ranges that haven’t been shown to improve outcomes, and we tell you which is which.

04 Manageable, not overwhelming

Create a focused, realistic plan

A manageable number of interventions, prioritized, rather than an overwhelming protocol. Everything you’re already doing is evaluated the same way: worth keeping, worth investigating further, or adding burden without benefit. Targeted interventions are used when the evidence and your clinical circumstances support them. We understand the frustration of seeing multiple doctors without answers; we also understand the exhaustion of a routine that has grown past the point of helping. Both get the same honest reading.

05 Outcomes, not just numbers

Measure what matters and refine

We evaluate symptoms, function, quality of life, relevant clinical outcomes and your own experience — not just changes in biomarkers. A number can improve while a person feels no better; a person can feel dramatically better with the same numbers. Retesting is used when it will inform the next decision, and the plan is refined as you go. The aim is a sustainable approach you can carry on your own — with us available when you need us, not as a permanent fixture.

Test with purpose

Advanced testing has a clear place — when it clarifies an important question or changes a decision.

Each panel is ordered for a specific reason and read in context. Here is what each one is for — and when it isn’t the right tool.

Signature panel

Thriveology Comprehensive Blood Panel

Metabolic, thyroid, lipid, inflammatory, nutrient and hormone markers in one draw — when the question is “why do I feel this way?” and existing labs can’t answer it.

Signature panel

DUTCH Complete Hormone & Adrenal

Sex hormones, their metabolites and the cortisol rhythm — when perimenopausal or PCOS symptoms aren’t resolving and the result will guide treatment.

Signature panel

GI-MAP Microbiome & Gut Function

Pathogens, bacterial balance, digestion and gut inflammation — for bloating, IBS, reflux, skin and immune issues.

Signature panel

Complete Cognitive Decline Panel

Metabolic, inflammatory and nutrient drivers of brain fog and memory change — for people with symptoms or a strong family history.

Add-on tests

Food Sensitivity · SIBO · Adrenal Stress

Targeted tests when your story points to a specific trigger — reactive foods, small-intestine overgrowth, or a burned-out stress response.

Add-on tests

Mycotoxins · Toxic Metals · Genetics · OmegaCheck

Environmental exposures, inherited tendencies and fatty-acid balance — ordered when your history makes them relevant, not as a bundle.

What to expect

From first call to feeling better.

A clear sequence, so you always know what comes next.

Week 0

Free Thrive Plan Call

Thirty minutes to talk through your concerns and decide which evaluation fits.

Weeks 1–2

Intake & evaluation

A thorough history, your existing labs and your current regimen, reviewed together. Testing when it would change a decision.

Weeks 3–4

60-minute evaluation

Dr. Loree walks you through your results and your Functional Health Report — what to act on, what to watch, what doesn’t change the plan — and a focused plan with a manageable number of interventions.

Months 1–6

Implement, measure, refine

In a Thrive Method program, coaching turns the plan into habits. We measure what matters — symptoms, function, quality of life — and refine as you go.

When something is actually wrong, we find it

Conditions and concerns we evaluate.

Many of these hide behind “normal” labs. Some turn out to be the body’s response to too little sleep, too much stress, or an overgrown routine rather than a condition. Either way, we’ll tell you which — and what to do about it.
